System: Autumn favourites in British handicap hurdles

Mechanism and rationale

Early in the jumps season the clear favourite in a handicap hurdle is underrated: fit, well-treated horses meet fields full of runners that need the outing.

The rule

race_type = 'Hurdle' AND is_handicap = 1 AND region = 'GB' AND month IN (10, 11) AND is_favourite = 1 AND favourites = 1

Reads: race_type, is_handicap, region, month, is_favourite, favourites
