The family scoreboard

Every hypothesis belongs to a mechanism family: ground lost in running, forgivable failures, a jumping shock, pace. Some families keep producing survivors and some never do; the scheduler learns which, but it is rewarded only for ideas confirmed on the holdout or on new races, never for a good-looking discovery number.
